Getting Started with Exercise

If you’re reading this then we are glad you are considering getting started back in exercise using the Sauna Suit. Please ensure you have read our articles on Lifestyle Change and General Guidelines to Exercise to give you an understanding of what it takes for long term weight loss and the Benefits of Exercise. When getting started with exercise we will all have different fitness levels, some may have not done regular exercise for a few months whereas some since school. We all have to realize this is the starting point, you have set your goals and now you are beginning the process of achieving those goals. The Sauna Suit is the most important item of training equipment you will need to ensure you will maximize your weight loss in achieving your goals. Don’t go wasting money just yet on home gyms or treadmills!

And so we begin………

The best way to start is with walking in your Sauna Suit, set yourself a realistic distance whether it be to the local store and back or around the park. From there you will be able to asses your fitness and stamina. There are plenty of rules on how often to exercise and for how long but everybody is different and the best indicator for how much exercise you should do is your own body. If you are feeling tired from exercising the day before, then rest, if you feel fine then exercise again and look at raising the intensity.

Finding a Buddy

Support from family and friends is vital and if you can find a buddy to exercise with this is even better. When choosing a buddy to exercise with its important to find someone who has a similar fitness level and achievable goals. Training with someone who is much fitter can be demoralizing and they will have a tendency to push you too hard resulting in injury. Training with someone is great as you can draw motivation and support from each other in reaching your goals.

Raising the Intensity

From walking in the Sauna Suit you can raise the intensity to power walking and eventually into running. Running in the Sauna Suit is one of the best forms of cardiovascular training. Always try to measure your walking/running by time and distance. Set your self a route and measure your time now you have a target to beat for next time. Only once you start improving your time then consider longer distances. Once you get to the level of running in the Sauna Suit on a regular basis (3-4 times a week) your fitness levels will have improved dramatically, if you are maintaining a balanced diet you will start to see positive results with your weight loss.

Mixing It Up

Walking and running can be fun to begin with but after time it can become tedious and it maybe time to mix things up. It’s important that your exercising does not become a chore, find an activity you are interested in. If you enjoy running then look at joining a local running club and look at the possibility of some charity races.

There are a vast array of activities and sports available, for example if you enjoy boxing check out your local boxing club for beginner classes and boxercise fitness classes. Finding a sport you enjoy participating in for example a game of tennis or soccer can be great as we describe this as Disguised Fitness. Disguised Fitness means you are unaware at the time of exactly how much you are exercising as you are more focused on winning the point or scoring a goal. Many of these activities/sports can be done whilst using your Sauna Suit to ensure you maximize your weight loss.

Fitness Gyms – Good or Bad?

We would advise initially on not joining a fitness gym. Entering a state of the art gym can be a daunting prospect and an expensive commitment as they can have high joining fees as well as a long term payment plans.

You need to find what’s right for you first, cycling is a wonderful example. You plan to go for a 15-minute bike ride and you are having such a good time it turns into an hour ride. That would not happen on a stationary bike in a gym. Treadmills, Cross Trainers and Rowing Machines are good exercise equipment but it can become boring staring at MTV on the plasma screen, get outdoors and see the world first. As well as saving you some money in a gym membership, training in the fresh air is great for your wellbeing.

In time you may feel a fitness gym is right for you but at least you have explored your options and you will get value for money once you decide to sign up as you know its right for you.

No Excuses

Cold or Wet weather is no longer an excuse with the Sauna Suit. Due to the “sauna effect” our Sauna suit creates you will be warm in no time at all and remember all our suits are waterproof.

Having a training buddy can be vital in those times of indecision of shall I exercise now or shall I stay on the sofa? Having someone to depend on to motivate you and likewise you motivate them will benefit both of you in reaching your goals.
